Join us YEAR ROUND, RAIN or SHINE, for a Natural History tour into Rat’s Nest Cave. A wild, undeveloped cave under Grotto Mountain; near Banff and Canmore, Alberta, Canada!
By wild we mean: no interior lighting, no handrails, no walkways; a cave in its natural state.
Discover the rich history of Rats Nest Cave; including how animals and humans have used the cave. Examine stalactites, stalagmites, animal bones and fossils. Learn about the geology of the picturesque Bow Valley, in the Canadian Rockies, where Banff and Canmore are located.

We are located in Wildwood, Powell River on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, a beautiful rural region that offers outdoor pursuits of every type. Whether on land, sea or lake, we can arrange a stay you won’t soon forget. Do you have a request you didn’t see on our website? Don’t hesitate to drop us a line.
We take great care in preparing for all of our tours. We only use high end equipment and as residents and outdoor enthusiasts we know the parks where we execute our tours through and through. Prior to a tour we discuss topics such as dietary preferences and previous experiences. We also provide a Suggested Gear List. This will leave you a clear image of what you may expect from us, but also what we expect from you.
Mad Dogs & Englishmen Expeditions is a multi-activity Sled Dog Touring company offering primarily guided Dog Sled & Ski-joring tours on trails within Kananaskis Country just outside Banff National Park.
Get away from the crowds and join us for an intimate and personal visit of our kennel site and operation. Meet our huskies, have fun with them! Great opportunity for photos and to be close to them. Not only do you get to meet and play with over 90 Alaskan huskies and puppies, but we have built a number of nature trails complete with interpretive signage.
Dog sledding is one of the coolest winter activities. But when the snow’s gone, there’s downtime for the hundreds of dogs at Alberta dog sled operations. During the spring and summer, you can tour these sled dog kennels for a hands-on look.
Our float trips join the Bow River on its path through the mountain town of Canmore AB, situated at the gateway to Banff National Park. Trips run four times a day and take about an hour. Great for families and friends, groups big, or small...actually they are great for everyone!
Canadian Rivers Wild is more than just a business. We offer opportunities to share experiences, to challenge yourself, to develop skills, and most of all embrace your fears. These are the building blocks on which we operate. Each day, and each new experience, we grow and develop as both a business and as people.
All of our staff, guides and instructors are professional, certified, disciplined, safe and take enormous pride in what they do. We have been trusted over the years to provide leadership and guidance to organizations like the British/American/Canadian Militaries, Hockey Canada and government bodies such as Police, Fire and Parks. We also provide water safety and first aid for film and TV productions, and adventure races.
