BANFF/JASPER ( and WATERTON) TIPS: National Parks & Campsite Availability

The summer of 2021 will be another busy one, so here are some tips for a crowd free, relaxing experience:

  • 90% of visitors do not venture further than 5 km's away from Highway 1 in Banff and Jasper National Parks. Seek out some day hiking trails and enjoy the nature away from the crowds!
  • There are over 4400 campsites available in Banff and Jasper National parks alone. Around 1000 of these site are first-come-first-serve. If you cannot find a site to book in advance DON'T PANIC, you can easily find a site at one of these campgrounds. Why is it easy? Most people skip all of the first-come-first-serve gems out there!
  • Visit lake Louise daily before 9AM. Visit Moraine Lake before 10AM.
  • When visiting Banff Town, park at the Fenlands parking lot, or around the outside of town and walk or take the local bus.
  • Book your adventures, cars and any other rental equipment early! - This is the season for advanced planning...
